Connecting Yoco to Xero, Sage or QuickBooks

Yes. Yoco connects to Xero, QuickBooks Online and Sage through Amaka, its integration partner, and the connection comes with Yoco’s Pro plan. Each sync sends your Yoco sales, fees and payouts into the accounting package so that nobody types them in. Where the built-in sync falls short, Yoco’s API makes a custom one possible.

Everything below comes from Yoco’s help centre, its plans page and its partners’ guides, read on 19 October 2026.

What does each sync send across?

Xero

Daily sales go across as a single summary or as full order detail. Payouts arrive as net deposits that match your bank account, bank rules are created for you, and Yoco’s fees land in their own fees account. Amaka runs the sync once a day, at midnight by default, and can back-sync up to 12 months of sales.

QuickBooks Online

Sales arrive as a daily summary invoice or as one invoice per order. Payment methods, tips, tax and Yoco fees all come across, refunds arrive as separate entries, and you can backdate the sync by up to a year.

Sage

Daily totals arrive in Sage Accounting as journal entries. Product, stock and location detail do not come across, and only orders marked Closed are synced.

Which Yoco plan do you need?

Yoco has three plans: Core, Plus and Pro. The Xero, QuickBooks and Sage connections come with Pro, and Plus includes the connection to stub, the invoicing app. Your accounting software’s own subscription is separate from Yoco’s.

One thing catches people out: connecting Xero moves your Yoco account onto Pro automatically, so check your plan before you connect it. Pro was called Accelerate until June 2026, so older help articles may use that name.

What does the built-in sync leave out?

Yoco’s help pages name Sage Accounting and nothing else. They do not cover Sage 50, which many South African businesses still know as Pastel, or Sage 200 Evolution.

Stock does not move. Because product detail never reaches Sage, a sale in Yoco will not reduce stock you track there.

And the sync only covers Yoco. If you also sell through a website or a second till, those sales need their own route into the books.

How do you reconcile Yoco payouts?

Every payout lists the total sales, the total Yoco fees and each card transaction behind it. Yoco reconciles at midnight, and the money reaches your bank one to two business days later.

Because Yoco pays out after taking its fee, the deposit never equals the day’s sales. Record the full sale, Yoco’s fee as an expense and the deposit as a transfer from Yoco, and the numbers meet. Yoco’s tax invoice itemises what it charged, payout history downloads as CSV, and sales history as CSV or Excel.

When does a custom sync make sense?

When you run Sage 50 or Evolution, when stock has to move with each sale, or when Yoco sales need to sit next to your web orders in one system. Yoco’s API exposes payments, refunds, payouts with their individual entries, orders and taxes, and it sends webhooks for events such as a refunded payment. That covers everything a custom sync needs.

It is the same kind of work as connecting a store to Payfast or Paystack, and it can run unattended once it is built. If your accounting setup is one the built-in sync does not cover, tell me what you are running.
